While FIJI Water creates much good through its philanthropic activities, the economic impact that our business has on the country of Fiji and the many Fijians employed at our plant and offices is perhaps the most noteworthy sign of a sustainable business enterprise.

In the recent years, FIJI Water has accounted for about 20% of Fiji’s exports and has been Fiji’s fastest growing export product. Our business is a significant source of income and investment funds for this developing, resource-deficient nation and empowers Fijians to participate in the global economy through a product that is renewable and sustainable.

We are one of the highest-paying employers in Fiji, with over 250 Fijian employees who comprise over 95% of the local workforce and include senior leadership in finance, quality, and operations. Committed to long-term employment and development of our employees, FIJI Water provides training, education, and internal promotion opportunities. Our plant has one of the most diverse, multi-ethnic workforces in Fiji, with indigenous Fijian and Indo-Fijian people working side by side, and women at all organizational levels, including key management roles.

Jobs at our plant pay two to three times more, on average, than comparable positions elsewhere in Fiji and include health care benefits, which is unusual in developing nations. Economic benefits to local residents include a reliable income source and sufficient wages to support families and extended relatives, all in an area where other opportunities are scarce.

As a customer, we have also helped create hundreds of jobs at local suppliers and related industries, including packaging manufacturers, logistics and transportation, hospitality and tourism. Finally, FIJI Water has been an important source of foreign investment and a powerful advertisement for Fiji abroad, driving global interest in Fijian tourism and spurring economic development.
